A Fittstown man was flown to an Oklahoma City hospital following a traffic accident Tuesday morning.

The incident happened at about 8:08 a.m. at the intersection of State Highway 99 and County Road 1640, two miles north of Fittstown.

Jason G. Timmons, 31, of Fittstown, was driving a medical equipment van east on CR 1640 when he drove through a stop sign at SH 99 and collided with a northbound 2001 Dodge Durango driven by Todd Zingrele, 37, of Waco, Texas.

The van hit the Durango’s driver side, causing it to slide sideways off the road and roll two complete times before landing on its wheels in a roadside ditch.

Zingrele was pinned for 20 minutes and freed from the wreck with the help of firefighters from Ada and Fittstown.
