A woman escaped from a burning car following a two-vehicle crash on Loop 410 Wednesday morning.
At about 3:18 a.m., Sofia Barnes, 30, was traveling south near Ray Ellison Drive when she struck an 18-wheeler from behind, causing her car to burst into flames.
In the accident report, it was not clearly stated how Barnes got out of the fiery wreck. Emergency personnel put out the flames.
She was taken to University Hospital for treatment of what appeared to be a broken ankle.
Witnesses said Barnes didn’t appear to be paying attention, and alcohol may be contributing factor in the accident.
