A weekend crash on Farm-to-Market Road 580 near Bend claimed the life of a Central Texas woman.
The accident occurred Sunday morning on a rural highway just near the home of the victim, identified as 69-year-old Sarah Cornelison Lovejoy of Bend.
Lovejoy was heading east on FM 580 travelling at a high rate of speed when she lost control of her vehicle in a curve, causing it to leave the roadway and go up an embankment.
The vehicle went airborne and flipped several times before it landed in a field.
Lovejoy was pronounced dead on the scene of the accident at 9:40 a.m. by Lampasas County Justice of the Peace Cameron Brister.
