A one-vehicle crash on Interstate 20 in Eastland County left one Lancaster man dead on Saturday.

At approximately 8:45 a.m., a Freightliner truck was heading east on I-20 near mile marker 337 when it crossed the median, left the roadway and slammed into a tree.

The 18-wheeler truck tumbled into a creek bed and hit a second tree, ejecting its driver, 59-year-old Samuel Lee Johnson.

Johnson was pronounced dead at the scene.

DPS says the weather was clear and the road was dry at the time of the accident. They’ve continued their investigation.
