A Wiley College professor was killed Friday evening following a motorcycle accident in Marshall.

37-year-old Valentyn Siniak was riding his motorcycle heading west on US Highway 80 at about 6 p.m. when he crashed into an eastbound Dodge pickup as it tried to turn left onto Loop 390.

He succumbed to his injuries and died in Good Shepherd Medical Center-Marshall that night.

Siniak worked as an anesthesiologist in Ukraine for three years, before working at Wiley as an assistant professor of biology for six years. He was an adjunct professor at East Texas Baptist University for two years from 2004 to 2006.

No citations were issued. The crash remains under investigation.
