One motorcyclist is dead after crashing into another car in the Mountain Creek area in Grand Prairie Sunday afternoon.

Police said a 2007 Suzuki motorcycle was travelling at about 65 mph on FM 1382 when a Kia Rio trying to make a left turn onto Eagle Ford Drive failed to yield. The motorcycle slammed into the right back quarter panel on the Kia, throwing off the rider, 40-year-old Myron Ellis. The motorcycle skidded about 115 feet.

Ellis landed in the northeast corner of the intersection and was rushed to Methodist Medical Center where he later died shortly before 4 p.m.

The crash is still being investigated.
