A single-vehicle accident early Thursday morning in Corpus Christi claimed the life of a 63-year old woman.

Police said the wreck occurred just before 2 a.m. along Morgan near Port.

Maria Teresa Hernandez of Corpus Christi lost control of her vehicle and flipped it.  Her car struck an electrical pole, a fire hydrant and a tree before ending up in the Bonilla parking lot.

Hernandez, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was partially ejected from the vehicle and was killed in the crash.
