An elderly woman was killed after her family’s unsecured vehicle that was being cleaned in a car wash in Conroe ran over her.

The accident happened when an attendant at a car wash accidentally put a truck in drive instead of neutral just before placing it on an automated car wash track.

Juana Gonzalez, 72, and her family were waiting for their truck about 50 feet away when the vehicle sped through the track and hit her.

Local media reports said a man pushed his pregnant wife out of the way as he jumped to safety, but the truck hit Gonzalez before hitting a tree.

Gonzalez was pronounced dead at the scene.

No other injuries were reported.
