A 22-year-old man was killed by a pickup truck on San Antonio highway while running from an earlier incident wherein he crashed a suspected stolen vehicle.

San Antonio police found the body of Joseph Limon in the back of a pickup truck on Interstate 37 South near Carolina Street.

According to Lt. Carlos Garcia of SAPD, Limon had been driving a stolen SUV when it crashed into a guardrail on I-37 North around 5 a.m. Monday.

Garcia said Limon was trying to escape when he was hit by the pickup.

“For whatever reason, he decided to cross the median. And as soon as he crossed, right when he got to the middle lane, another vehicle hit him,” Garcia said.

The strong impact sent Limon airborne, smashed into the windshield and wound up at the back of the pickup.

Limon was pronounced dead at the scene.
