A motorcycle accident early Monday in Robertson County claimed the life of a 21-year-old man.

The crash happened on Texas 6 when Jason Mitchell collided into a pickup and was thrown off his 2009 Yamaha motorcycle at about 4:30 a.m. The pickup was turning north onto Texas 6 from Texas 14 when the collision happened. Mitchell crashed into left front fender of the pickup and lost his helmet when he was ejected from his bike.

Mitchell was declared dead at the scene.

The 2012 Chevrolet pickup driver, James Chmiel, 53, was wearing his seatbelt and was not injured.

No charges have been filed against Chmiel as of Monday night. The crash remains under investigation.
