Two Dallas Police motorcycle officers have been injured after a crash near Zang curve Tuesday afternoon.

At about 12:15 p.m., Officers Wayne Nichols and Michael Keating were driving side by side on northbound I-35E when a Toyota Camry in an adjacent lane swerved to avoid a car in front of it which suddenly stopped.

The Camry struck one of the motorcycle officers, sending his bike into the other officer’s bike, causing both motorcycles to tip over.

Nichols was taken to Methodist, and Keating to Baylor. Both sustained non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the Camry was also taken to a hospital as a precaution.

An investigation is ongoing, but no charges have been filed.

Both directions of I-35E reopened after it was shut down for nearly two hours.
