A two-vehicle crash in Huffman Thursday morning killed two men and injured a 5-month-old girl.

A Victoria man was taking his daughter to her babysitter when the fatal accident occurred on Farm-to-Market Road 2100. Charles Strnadel IV, 29, of Huffman, was driving south in a Toyota Tundra when a northbound Dodge Ram 2500, moved into the southbound lane and hit Strnadel head-on.

Strnadel’s 5-month-old daughter, Cadence, was in the back of the vehicle securely restrained in a child safety seat.

Both drivers, Strnadel and Shawn Emery, the Dodge Ram driver, died in the crash. According to the news release, Strnadel was wearing his seat belt while Emery wasn’t.

Cadence was released from the hospital Friday.

Strnadel graduated from St. Joseph High School in 2001 and attended Texas A&M University, where he majored in construction science. He worked at Spawglass Construction in Houston. He was married to Sarah Strnadel, his high school sweetheart, his mother, Carolyn Strnadel, of Victoria, said. The couple would have celebrated their sixth wedding anniversary on Oct. 21.

The crash is under investigation by the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.

Funeral arrangements are pending at Rosewood Funeral Home in Victoria.
