A young woman was killed early Sunday morning when she was hit by a service truck, with its driver failing to stop on the South Freeway in Fort Worth.

Police said 21-year-old Charayla McMillan of Crowley was riding in the back seat with family members when she started feeling ill. They stopped in the service road and she leaned on the driver’s side. That is when the truck struck her and killed her instantly.

Family members who were in the car with the victim described the pickup as a black “work truck” with large tires. It had a toolbox and louvers on the back window.

McMillan was a mother of a one-year-old daughter, who just celebrated her first birthday a week ago.

If you have information about the suspect’s vehicle, contact your local police agency or Tarrant County Crime Stoppers.
