About Me

I have successfully litigated cases in state and federal court. Since graduating from SMU with my JD in 2004, I have developed an impressive track record in jury trials, non-jury trials, and arbitrations as a result of dedicated preparation and artful lawyering skills.

I have tried, and won, cases in seven (7) different counties in Texas. It is common for me to make six and seven digit recoveries for clients who had been told by other attorneys that they don’t have a case. In fact, in 2011, I had four separate cases settle for hundreds of thousands of dollars each, and each of them had been dropped by other attorneys.

Most importantly, however, I am compassionate to my clients’ plights, and maintain the personal motto and pledge to clients that “We are in this thing together.”

My skill and hard work is recognized by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization as I am a Board Certified Personal Injury Litigator.

Client Case Profile

The family of “D.S.” came to me after he was shot and killed in the parking lot of his apartment complex. D.S.’s family approached the apartment complex, only wanting the funeral to be paid for, because they thought his death would have been prevented if the apartment complex had better security in place.

From the beginning, the apartment complex (through their insurance company) took the position that D.S.’s death had nothing to do with the lack of security at the complex, but was rather a drug deal gone wrong. D.S.’s family had a very difficult time finding an attorney that would take the case on a contingent fee basis as most attorneys were troubled by the position taken by the insurance company in regards to D.S.’s death being the result of a drug deal, and the recent changes in law that made the negligent security cases particularly tough to prosecute.

I took the case, and proceeded to go to war with the apartment complex and their insurance company, not only to compensate D.S.’s family for the loss of their loved one, but also to restore his good name, and help to make the complex safer.
